High Chaparral Open Space Ridgeline Trail Scenic Overlook

Development of a trailside scenic overlook at the high point of the newly constructed High Chaparral Ridgeline Trail.  This ADA compliant scenic overlook offers breathtaking views of the Pikes Peak Regions foothills and alpine ranges from one of the highest viewpoints in Colorado Springs. Surrounding the overlook we’re constructing a ¾ circle wet-laid stone sitting wall approximately thirty feet in diameter and 65 feet in length. This completely hand crafted circular structure required an extensive layered foundation of crushed stone, dry-laid stone, and wet-laid stone due to poor soil conditions.  Construction will continue on the final above-ground tiers through early 2009.
